Matthew Willie Garcia was born and raised in Tulare, CA. He received a B.F.A. in Printmaking from the Kansas City Art Institute and is currently an M.F.A. Candidate in Printmaking at the University of Kansas. Matthew lives and works between Kansas City, MO, and Lawrence, KS. He is as a queer EXTRA-dimensional explorer, and often finds himself thinking about Lisa Frank, Star Trek Voyager, Ru Pauls Drag Race and the curvature of space-time.

Printstallation
This class will be a collaborative class that utilizes prints inherent ability to create multiples. We will create 3 to 4 stunning print installations that will be on display during Lawrence Print Week. Using screen print, Relief, and riso students will explore texture, object making and how to think about space. We will move from the 2d to the 3d and 4d. All levels welcomed.
